Diani Beach Earthship Village — regenerative homes for simple, self-sufficient living in Kenya

On the coast of Kenya, near Diani Beach, we are creating an Earthship-inspired village built from clay, reused materials, glass bottles, plastic and local resources. The vision is simple and powerful: build beautiful self-sufficient homes where people can live lightly, share skills, grow food, reuse water and take part in a new model of affordable, regenerative living. Project description: Diani Beach Earthship Village is a living experiment in regeneration, community and self-sufficiency. The project brings together natural building, permaculture, upcycling, water cycles, food systems and community living. Instead of depending on expensive infrastructure, the houses are designed to work with what is already available: clay, sun, rain, plants, fish, recycled materials, human creativity and practical hands. Each house is imagined as a small ecosystem. It can provide shelter, energy, water access, growing spaces and a simple but dignified way of living. Shared spaces for cooking, eating, learning and gathering are part of the vision, so the village becomes more than housing — it becomes a place where people can build, live, learn and create together. A central focus is circular design. Water is treated with care and reused through layered systems involving filtration, plants and aquatic life wherever technically appropriate. Materials that would normally be seen as waste — bottles, plastic, old outdoor equipment and discarded resources — become part of the architecture. The long-term dream is to build as many of these homes as possible. People who help build can live simply on site, reduce their living costs and become part of a community that is learning how to live with more freedom, more responsibility and less waste. This is not a luxury eco-retreat. It is a practical, hands-on building project for people who want to create something real. We create: We create Earthship-inspired homes, permaculture structures and simple community spaces that support self-sufficient living. The project combines natural building, upcycling, food growing, water systems, renewable energy thinking and community care.
